Compassion Based Living Course (CBLC) 2026

Compassion Based Living Course (CBLC) 2026

Mindfulness Hrvatska is pleased to host the Compassion Based Living Course. The Compassion Based Living Course (CBLC)  is an online mindfulness course, a companion course to the Mindfulness-Based Living Course (MBLC).

CBLC consists of 10 sessions, each two hours long. The course builds upon the themes of the MBLC and draws on insights and practices from several sources including neuroscience, psychology, philosophy, and Buddhism.

The aims of the course are to develop an in-depth personal understanding and experience of compassion, to develop your personal mindfulness practice, and to enable you to apply compassion throughout your life. Throughout the course we will:

  • integrate compassion and self-compassion into mindfulness practice
  • through compassionate imagery and mindful self-compassion, cultivate positive emotions as a way of building up an inner resource, from which we can approach challenges and difficulties
  • cultivate an inner voice that is kind and supportive, to live life from this place, rather than from a place of destructive self-criticism.

In the course of the journey we move from self-compassion towards compassion for others, exploring practices which help us find balance and perspective beyond our narrow preferences, generating love and friendliness to our inner and outer worlds, responding appropriately to pain and suffering while also appreciating the good things in our lives, integrating compassion into all that we do.

Each live online session includes
– a tutor-led talk and discussion
– reflection and sharing
– practicing together compassion-based mindfulness practices.

You will receive a copy of the course book ‘Compassion Based Living Course’ by Choden and Heather Regan-Addis (2024, Mantra Books). You will also receive a course certificate when you complete the course. You must attend all the course sessions to receive the course completion certificate. Viewing recordings is possible for a small number of sessions which you may be unable to attend live online. We request that you participate online in a settled and appropriate space.

As there is a strong emphasis on experiencing through practice, there are home practices between the sessions including daily-life exercises. You will have access to downloadable audios of tutor-led compassion-based mindfulness practices (in English).
